Stony Brook - Brewster
One of two sites in Brewster monitored by APCC, Stony Brook is a 32 acre marsh located on Route 6A, adjacent to the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. Monitoring at Stony Brook is in the pre-restoration phase, as the feasibility study of the tidal restriction is underway. Brewster volunteers meet several times each month to collect water samples to determine salinity, as well as conduct surveys of vegetation at the site. This data will be critical in determining the effectiveness of the restoration effort once the project is complete and the tidal flow is restored.
